SUSAN EBELING-WITTE

Welcome to Lynn Counseling LLC!  I am Susan Ebeling-Witte, owner of Lynn Counseling.  I have a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling and am licensed in the State of New Jersey as a professional counselor.  I have over 15-years of experience working with diverse populations aged 18-years and older.  I am a member of the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and the American Counseling Association (ACA).  I am certified to provide Tele-Mental Health Counseling through the Tele-Mental Health Training Institute.

I have a special interest in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, and suicide ideation. My extensive training includes courses offered through the Beck Institute I Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the treatment of anxiety, depression, insomnia, rumination, trauma, and suicide prevention. In addition, I am trained to provide EMDR therapy for trauma through the EMDR Institute.  I am currently engaged in training; specifically, the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) offered through CAMS-care with the goal of earning the CAMS Trained designation.

Working with me as your therapist, you can expect understanding, empathy, and compassion as we build a transparent and trust-filled collaborative relationship.  Utilizing various approaches, we will establish a treatment plan tailored for you as you pursue your life goals.

MY MOTIVATION

My path to becoming a mental health counselor began with my son.  At age 19, he attempted suicide and survived.  At the time, suicide ideation was not unfamiliar to me, however, I had never attempted suicide.  With my son’s attempt, I was left with many questions and needed answers: Why did he attempt, when I never did?  He left a note, he intended to die, why?  Didn’t EVERYONE at some point in their life think, “I wish I were dead” but not do it; not attempt?  I heard of others who have died by suicide, but it was never something I imagined would ever happen to my family.  Why?

I was driven to find answers and learn as much as I could.

CURRENT WORK

I currently work with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, sleep troubles, rumination, a history of trauma, and/or experience suicidal thoughts when feeling stressed.  I offer free consultations; if you have questions, reach out, let’s talk.
